Following a sold-out performance at the Soho Revue this year as well as a widely praised showcase at SXSW Festival, 2009 is proving to be a seminal year for this highly original London-based singer/songwriter.

Ana Silvera's ability to weave intense, poetical story-telling into hauntingly tender melodies saw her named recently as a 'major talent in the offing' (Music Week), with a lush, intimate sound that is fast gaining recognition among discerning critics and public alike.

Ana has just completed her first studio album recorded this year between New York and London, alongside producer Brad Albetta (Martha Wainwright, Teddy Thompson) and Ray Singer (Armatrading, Hardy). This album will also feature string quartet arrangements composed by renowned NYC-based musician Maxim Moston (Antony and the Johnsons, Keren Ann), which will be premiered at a special concert on the 28th May at The Roundhouse, London (click here for full details)

Ana Silvera's musical education began at a very young age with classical training and solo performances for the English National Opera. Writing songs inspired by everything from her own life experiences to those of a starlet in war-torn Paris, a biblical and murderous Salome, an Irish choirboy and a dead poet's wife, the forthcoming album promises to be an intimate account of her own - and many other vivid characters' lives and loves.
